For someone that needs user-friendly email automation for website visitors, especially if your website is built on WordPress, it works very well. Their simple and straight forward interface is critical for beginners and experts alike. However, do note like with any platform, that there is a learning curve, especially with some of the targeting features. We use the platform for website interactions on our website and it takes care of everything from emailing, collecting emails, chat, and tracking.

  • No visual workflow for the email automation feature, but it's still user-friendly.
I would say for anyone looking for a tool that helps them pull leads and sends emails, it's a great solution. They have more lead-grabbing features than most other tools. They also have support features like a knowledge base, and it's even built into the chat but we don't use it for that purpose.
If you're looking for a tool for visual email creation, it seems to be lacking in those features, but typically for b2b email automation that's not what you'd use it for. You can create a template, but you wouldn't be able to edit visual templates, so I would argue that this is a better tool for b2b purposes even though it integrates with sites like WordPress, WooCommerce and a host of others via direct and indirect integrations.

Gist allows us to follow-up with users who have done a trial of our software and convert them into sales without any extra effort on our part. It also allows us to send targeted emails to different segments of our list to maximize customer lifetime value without annoying various irrelevant list segments.

Gist is well-suited if you're losing leads that don't convert into sales you can create sequences designed to bring them in, and if you have high bounce rates at checkout you can follow up automatically to try and close the sales, the list goes on and on - there are a lot of useful scenarios for marketing automation that just about any website/business can benefit from.

Gist is an all-in-one platform to provide customer support. I like their super cool chat widget. Using their mobile app I can reply to my customers on the go. It helps me a lot to provide faster support. Also, they have a knowledgebase feature. This knowledgebase reduces customer ticket submissions a lot. My business is so smooth because of this powerful software!

  • In Facebook page integration I can only reply to FB page messages through Gist. But there is no option to reply to customer comments like on LiveAgent. This is a feature I really wish was available in Gist.

  • I love using the chat bot to field questions about consulting services and courses during a launch.

It's easy for me to get help from a representative when I am stuck or don't know where to start. They are very kind and lead me to get the results I'm looking for. Creating and sending custom emails is easy to do.

We have tried many applications that offer live chat support and email marketing automation and nothing has come close to what Gist has to offer! One business problem we had was providing live support on our website. With Gist we have solved that problem, thanks to its amazing live chat feature! The one thing that we absolutely love is how stunning it looks on our website! The live chat feature is so easy to implement and set up. Now our visitors can instantly get our support and in return, we get to collect the leads! Thanks Gist!

I've used Gist for quite a while now and this is the first tool I can use to the full extent. The logic in workflow makes sense and I am very happy.
I use Gist with my team to deliver instant support to our customers via chat and our knowledge base. We've also set up a funnel for our frontend on the website so potential customers can ask questions easily.

  • Learning curve, it's not easy to setup but once you have it's awesome.
  • New feature integrations are also tough to fit into your existing workflow.
  • Nothing else, really.
You can use Gist for customer support and customer sales. Use automation to keep customers informed, educated and happy. It's really online based and focusses on small to medium size businesses. The team features are good but not as great as HubSpot but the price is much much better. So yes, I would recommend Gist to a lot of people and already did!

As a small business owner, I use the Chatbot to chat with people who visit my website, view the site behavior stats of those visitors, and I send out a regular newsletter to subscribers who signed up on my website.
  • The Chatbot is so helpful as another way for site visitors to connect. Rather than filling out a webform they get fast answers. I love that I can use the Gist app on my phone and not miss any communication.
  • The simplicity of the email templates and creating newsletter blasts is a godsend.
  • I'd like to see better visuals of what I've created over the last 2 years so I can easily understand which lists go to which campaigns and which automation are running what. I feel like Gist is a thoroughbred yet I'm only able to take her on trail rides!
I believe that my limitations (I need to spend more time learning how to utilize this impressive platform as much as possible) are what limits me from recommending Gist more. I have had a steep learning curve and I am in tech, so for non-techie folks, I'd have to caution them that Gist has a lot going on but they'll have to take some time to work it all out.

Gist serves the CRM needs of my organization. In particular, the following features get used most often:

If a new organization is looking for an all-in-one integrated CRM at a reasonable price point but is comfortable with a learning curve and ok with some misfires, Gist is in line with their needs. If your organization wants immediate adoption, a mature product, and cannot afford even one mistake, and is willing to pay a higher price to achieve this, Gist may be more suited 1 year down the line, and not now.

We use it to manage all contacts and mailing lists. We use it for all marketing campaigns. We use it for all support conversations / email. We also make use of the integrated knowledge base. It gives us an all-in-one customer engagement and support portal that works well for us and our users.

To maintain a single list of contacts and have these segmented so that they can be properly targeted to achieve particular goals. To create a stunning knowledge base that is accessible via a custom domain and that can also be easily referred/linked to in any support thanks to inbuilt support for this in the conversations portal.

I use Gist for marketing automation, chat, and website tracking mostly. It has so many more tools that I could use but haven't yet implemented. Where Gist really shines is that combination of feature rich tools you would find from Intercom and ConvertKit. The system supports my assets, email automations, and funnels for selling coaching services and online courses.

Our current primary use is the interactive website chat which alerts our team on through the Gist app when someone is on our site and triggered our customized rules. This allows us to engage potential clients quickly which has increased conversions substantially. We are currently building out our knowledge base through Gist and we will be getting back into email campaigns very soon. Gist is used across our organization.
  • Customer engagement through chat and chat rules which alerts our team with the Gist App. This was extremely simple and quick to get up and running and has already paid for itself.
  • Tracks user engagement with your website and allows us to understand website user behavior. It also logs all chat conversations
  • The email campaign has been useful and easy to setup. It hasn’t been our primary use yet as we are still list building. The credit allocation is a better value for us than mail chimp allowing us to reach more people for less cost.
  • The knowledge base was a nice addition in the last update.
  • Gist could improve on its customization for pop-ups and front end so that integration into your website is more seamless.
  • The workflows are useful but are a bit of a learning curve, thankfully support is great and happy to help.
Gist has helped us to replace 3 separate software services for much less than we were paying before. If you're running a WP website, their plugin makes integration easy and their app means I can assign someone to cover customer engagement around the clock. Our services are very bespoke so engaging with customers quickly and effectively is really important for us. As a smaller business, it is really important to have software that works well and is simple to use, we find Gist meats that criteria for us.
